Desktop Enterprise Solutions (DES) is a unit within IET that provides computer and network consulting services to UC Davis departments and students on a fee basis.

- Computer System Administration and Consulting Services for
Students
- Problem troubleshooting and resolution including virus and malware detection and removal.
- Software installation, configuration, patching, and maintenance.
- Data recovery.
- Technical advising and consulting.
- Computer System Administration and Consulting Services for
Departments
- Complete Windows and Macintosh administration and consulting services for server and desktop systems (needs assessment, planning, purchase recommendations, installation, configuration, maintenance, problem troubleshooting and resolution, and backups/recovery).
- Analyze, plan and migrate departments to the campus Active Directory forest.
- Adjunct technical support staffing.
- Desktop/laptop patching, virus removal, and maintenance.
- UC Davis Cyber-Safety Consulting Services
- Evaluate compliance with Cyber-Safety guidelines including Personal Information scanning (SSN's, Credit Cards numbers, etc).
- Develop strategy for compliance.
- Assist with compliance reporting.
- Additional
Cyber-Safety information.
- Netscreen Firewall Administration and
Consulting Services
- Turnkey Solution: needs assessment, planning, installation, configuration, maintenance, problem troubleshooting and resolution.
- Sparing Service: specialized replacement service to provide reduced cost 4-hour replacement service.
- Consulting: administration and consulting.
- Additional firewall information.
Rates
$75.50/hour, one hour minimum, charged in 15-minute increments after the first hour.
